Physical Science
1 Unit
Roughly divided into an introduction of two basic disciplines: chemistry and physics from a Biblical point of view. A foundation is laid for more advanced courses in these areas. Consideration is given to such topics as the composition of matter, elements, certain chemical reactions, measurements using the metric system, mechanics, heat, electricity, light and sound. Emphasis is given to the practical discovery and application of laws and principles.
Biology
1 Unit
Surveys the major aspects of life and living organisms with special emphasis on concepts that relate to creation and evolution. Facts are reinforced and observation skills are developed through related laboratory work with the microscope and various dissections.
Chemistry
1 Unit
A detailed study of the elements and their properties. Quantitative and qualitative studies of reactions of the elements and their compounds are accomplished by a combination of classroom work and laboratory experimentation.
Human Anatomy and Physiology
1 Unit
A study of the design and function of human body systems, related diseases and disorders, and current research in the medical field. Includes several dissections. Prerequisite: Biology.
Physics
1 Unit
A mathematical study of the relationship between mass, matter and energies, such as nuclear, electromagnetic, and heat energies. Quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity are explored to show the design and uniqueness of space, time and matter in God's universe.
