Studio Art (I, II, III, IV)

This subject is designed so that the material taught is different each semester. Drawing skills will be developed with emphasis on the various parts of the principles and elements of design. Specific art mediums and subjects will vary and may include: drawing (pencil, charcoal, conte crayon, pen and ink), printmaking (relief-multicolored or reduction, silkscreen), painting (acrylic, watercolor), mixed media, still life, interior scenes, landscapes, cityscapes and portraits. Each student will keep a sketchbook and finish three final projects.
Ceramics

The student is introduced to both handbuilt and thrown techniques. A variety of glazing and firing techniques are explored.
